Compliance
What is the PV GreenCard and does my solar installer need one?
The PV GreenCard is SAPVIA’s industry safety and quality certification for solar PV installations in South Africa. Certified installers can issue an as-built GreenCard report covering equipment, design and performance. It supports insurance, finance and municipal confidence — but it does not replace the mandatory electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC).
Why homeowners ask about GreenCards
People want a signal that the installer is competent beyond a marketing website. A GreenCard-capable installer is a positive filter; still verify references, warranties, CoC and SSEG inclusion.

What it is not
Not a municipal SSEG approval. Not a substitute for NRS-approved equipment. Not automatic proof that your specific quote is fair — use our quote checklist.
