Inverters

What is MPPT on a solar inverter?

MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) is the inverter function that continuously finds the voltage/current combo where your panels produce the most power. Dual or multiple MPPTs let different roof faces (e.g. north and west) work more independently — valuable on South African homes with split roofs or partial shade.

Buyer takeaway

More MPPTs are not automatically better if all panels face one clear north plane — but they help when orientations differ. Your designer should show string maps per MPPT and stay inside the inverter’s voltage limits on cold Highveld mornings (Voc rises in the cold).
